Who is Lisa Riley?
Lisa Riley was born on July 13, 1976, in Bury, Greater Manchester. At the age of nine, Riley trained at the Oldham Theatre Workshop and was already signed by an agent at the age of 12. She was able to get roles in television early when she was cast as an extra in the popular soap opera “Coronation Street”. Interestingly, her role on “Emmerdale” as Mandy Dingle was supposed to only be a guest role, but after proving to be popular with the viewing audience, she was written into the show as a permanent part of the cast. In 1996, she was able to win the National Television Awards for “Most Popular Newcomer” for her role on “Emmerdale”.
Her next long-running role was as Rebecca Patterson on the drama series “Fat Friends”, which ran from 2002 to 2005. Afterward, she secured small parts in various television shows, such as the children’s show “Young Dracula”, and the crime drama “Scott & Bailey”. She was even mentioned in a song by Kings Have Long Arms who have a tracked named after the actress!
In 2016, she became one of three new panelists on the show “Loose Women”, following a series of guest appearances the past year. In 2017, Riley was also cast in the BBC series “Three Girls” as Lorna, who was the mother of one of the three main characters. In 2018, she was also cast in another BBC drama, “Age Before Beauty”, where she played Tina Reegan. Riley holds many other television credits in other shows such as “The Bill”, “Doctors”, and “Having It Off”.
As an adult, Riley also has credits on the stage where she was cast in different plays and pantomimes, such as in “The Vagina Monologues”, “Calendar Girls”, and even a starring role in a performance of “Aladdin”.

She took a photograph of herself in 2009, and ten years later, in 2019, she uploaded it side-by-side with a recent photo of herself. She looks unrecognizable from her past self!
She wrote: “Well YES YES YES I am super proud of my #10yearchallenge. I have changed my life 100% healthy food, exercise a lot, stopped smoking, zero booze for nearly four years. But mainly head and heart are in sync which equals HAPPINESS.”
She amazed her fans with her transformation, and many have said that she is an inspiration in her weight loss journey. For her efforts, she was able to slim down from a UK size 28 to her current size 14, and she was even able to release a cookbook detailing her new diet.

1. She restricted her caloric intake
Riley drastically decreased her daily calorie intake, capping her daily calories to around 400-600. What’s more, she would only eat lean meat, vegetables, and fruits as her source for these calories.
2. She cut out booze and sugary drinks
Removing liquor, soda, and fruit juices from her diet helped Riley reduce weight drastically. These drinks are often high in sugar and empty calories, and while it helps you feel full, it quickly leaves you feeling hungry and craving for sugar.
3. She followed the “honesty” diet
The principle of the honesty diet is simple: writing down everything that you eat in a day.
