Interestingly, Wilson was once a timid and shy girl who found it hard to relate with children her own age.
However, she was able to grow out of her timid phase during high school when her drama teacher encouraged her to spread her wings and compete in a talent show-like competition called Tournament of Minds. It was here that Wilson first sharpened both her comedic and acting chops, and she began her career as a professional actor.

When Rebel Wilson turned 30, she took the plunge and moved to West Hollywood in 2010. Although she already had some films under her belt back in her native Australia, she found the Hollywood atmosphere to be quite intimidating. As first, Rebel Wilson was a bit hesitant, considering how image obsessed Hollywood could be, but Wilson took it as a challenge, and turned what others might consider her “disadvantages” into her unique selling point in Tinsel Town. She even told Cosmopolitan celebrity news magazine, “Being unique and different was a really good thing. When I talked into my agent’s office for the first time, they said, ‘Wow, we have nobody on our books like you.’ And they signed me on my second day.”
What was Rebel Wilson’ first involvement in a big movie?
Her first breakout role in the US was in the comedy Bridesmaids, and Wilson realized that it was her heart and her brain that would make her standout from other actresses, and that she “feels really lucky to be the body type” that she was.

Although she has lost 45 pounds to date, she did not do anything too drastic to lose a lot of weight in a short time, because Rebel Wilson still believes in “loving yourself and not caring what other people might think”.

As a resident of LA, Rebel Wilson has made the switch from sugary drinks to drinking “green juices”. These are made from blended fruits and vegetables, and are a great way to get the daily dose of vitamins, minerals, and fiber. One of the funniest scenes from Pitch Perfect is when Fat Amy does the “horizontal jog”, but in real life, the actress tries to get in a lot of actual workout. Rebel Wilson goes to the gym at least four days a week, and she takes advantage of LA’s natural outdoor beauty by going on long hikes. Maybe to get away from her trainer.

Wilson readily admits that she did not do a complete weight loss frenzy and has not completely removed all the “trashy” food from her diet. After a long day of filing on set, or when she’s feeling down, she still has some “naughty comfort food”. It’s all about moderation!
